Stolper & Friends Gallery in Oslo

26 Oct

Magne and Paul Stolper opened a new Gallery in Oslo to exhibit Magne and other Artists work called Stolper and Friends.

It was supposed to open in the Summer with an Exhibition by Magne but after the terrible tragedy of the Oslo bomb and the student killings in Utoya, they decided not to hold Magne’s exhibition, but to invite Damien Hirst to exhibit there. Damien and Magne are good friends and the exhibition (I’m told) was well received. Damien’s exhibition was called “Souls”.

Magne currently has an Exhibition at Stolper and Friends called SNAP and it opened on 19th October and runs until 20th November. Check out Stolper and Friends’ website here to see Gallery opening times and location information (I suggest you do this before planning your visit). You can follow Stolper and Friends on Twitter here (but they haven’t updated the Twitter since August 2011) or signup to the newsletter for the gallery here.

I hope you have the opportunity to see the exhibition.

New Morten Solo Album & Tour! (2012)

26 Oct

Hi everyone,

The Blog is back. Unfortunately, Twitter has allowed someone else to use @TheBandstand :(

I’ve made a new Twitter for Morten fans and you can follow here (@Harketeers).

Unfortunately when I decided to wind up www.a-ha.tv last year (because it was costing me money to have the domain each year and each month for hosting fees) but I still kept this free wordpress blog (if you’ve been a fan for a while then you’ll remember this is the original site for The Bandstand). Sadly, I didn’t think to import all the data from the hosted site across to here before deleting it.

I decided to resurrect this blog because Morten will be releasing a new album around March 2012 and will be doing a live solo tour. 1 date in Paris and 1 date in Zurich and 1 date in Germany (so far) plus 3 confirmed UK concerts in May.

The 3 UK concerts had a ticket pre-sale this morning on the Official a-ha Facebook page and the public sale is with Gigs and Tours on Friday!

Here‘s the link on a-ha.com Announcing Morten’s tour.

If you’d like to make friends and participate in the Unofficial Morten Harket group here‘s the link. Unfortunately, this is only available on Facebook so you must login to your facebook account. If you don’t have one, it’s free to signup.

I loved Morten’s last album in 2008 (I can’t believe it’s been 3 years already) it was called Letter From Egypt but so far my favourite Morten album is Wild Seed.

I have very high hopes for this album and to see Morten perfoming live again is a dream come true!
