Rumours of a new solo album by Morten

20 Mar

I’ve some exciting news to share with fans of Morten’s solo music which I heard a little while ago.

I’ve heard he’s planning a new solo album for a release in 2011!

This is of course an unconfirmed rumour which was told to me by a friend.

Of course when I hear anything further about this I’ll let you know. I don’t think this project will start until a-ha has retired in December, unless Morten’s songwriting on the a-ha Ending on a High Note tour.

I hope to have more news on this but I don’t know when this will be forthcoming.

I’m definitely looking forward to his next solo release and I hope that the new album will receive a bigger release and a solo tour.

Yohan Barnevandrer [synopsis and trailer]

18 Mar

I’ve just noticed an update on this film on the Internet Movie Database.

Yohan Barnevanderer translates to Yohan Child Wanderer

Synopsis:

With his family struggling to survive in late 1890s Norway and his father leaving on a ship for America to earn much needed money, 10-year-old Yohan devises some plans of his own to help his family. However, his jealous older brother has other ideas, and, unbeknown to their parents, he signs a contract with an agent for Yohan to become a farm laborer. Now consigned to being a child wanderer, Yohan is sent off to work on a faraway farm providing cheap labour. Yohan embarks on a long, rugged journey filled with danger, loneliness and feelings of abandonment. Along the way, he meets up with two other child wanderers, 8 year-old Anna and her younger brother. Together with other child wanderers and led by the menacing boy Aslak, the group makes its way on foot through the countryside with Yohan finally arriving at the farm where he is told to work. He becomes a shepherd boy, protecting the farmer’s livestock from wolves and grizzly bears. His boss, Nome, is a harsh disciplinarian and a tough man to please. Following his heart and with good intentions, Yohan makes decisions that are misunderstood by local adults and are sabotaged by other envious children. Unjustly accused, he is punished and beaten by Nome. Events only get worse, with wild animals attacking Nome’s herd on Yohan’s watch and Yohan’s discovery that his friend Anna and her brother have been beaten at a neighboring farm. Using his resourcefulness and ingenuity, a battered Yohan sets out to help his friend Anna and her brother escape from the farm owners.

The movie opens on 26th March in Norway. I’m not sure if Morten will be in attendance.

Morten has a throat infection

18 Mar

I’d read about this online earlier. It’s been a busy day! Apologies for the delay in posting.

Here’s a partial posting from a-ha.com today:

Since the first Brazilian show in Bauru, the video & light show has evolved and especially the arrangements to ‘Analogue’ and ‘Swing Of Things’ are a real piece of art.

Tonight’s concert is effected by Morten’s throat infection which forces the band to drop ‘You Are The One’, ‘Early Morning’ and ‘Train Of Thought’ from the set list. However Brasilia’s audience happily helps Morten out singing whole parts of the songs including an extra special extended version of ‘Hunting High And Low’.

If you’d like to read the entire story Brasilia – Time to Wave Goodbye click here to visit a-ha.com.

Note: It looks like new posts on the official website don’t have links, they just get posted in the News section.

Take On Me

Karen says:

I don’t know what I was hoping for but there’s no Celice and no How Sweet It Was. I thought they would play different songs from EOTSWOTM. Crying in the Rain’s one of the songs I’d hoped they wouldn’t include from Memorial Beach.

It’ll be good to see if some songs are swapped, but from past experience they’ve only made very minor changes (from the concerts I’ve been to on the same tour).

Thankyou Samanta for the setlist and I wish you all the best with the photos.

Note: Please give Samanta credit for the setlist, if your re-posting it on another site.

a-ha.com’s had a Makeover

4 Mar

I just went to a-ha.com to check for recent news and discovered its had a makeover and is now Black with Blue and not red, grey and white.

Here’s one of the looks the mainpage gave me when I went there a second time:

and here’s another

Everytime it loads it seems to load a different image, which keeps the site interesting!

It requires a lot more of a look and I’m going to make time to do that in about an hour.

I’m pretty impressed and felt for some time that it needed to be updated as the grey, red and white them harks back to 2005!

Do you like the new look of the Official site?

5 Spare tickets to Birmingham

2 Mar

A very good and reliable friend of mine bought 5 x £32.50+ booking fee tickets to the concert in Birmingham on 19th November, but due to a mis-communication with a friend, she doesn’t need these tickets afterall.

She’s not looking to sell to make a profit and would like these to go to a fan for as close to face value as possible. And she doesn’t want to list them on Ebay unless absolutely necessary!

If your interested, please contact me and ask for her contact details.

The best way to sell is 4 tickets and a single, or 2 x 2 pairs + a single. If you are seriously interested, please don’t delay in contacting her because she might just take an offer to sell these as single, therefore if you need 4, 3 or 2 tickets you’ll miss out!
